We have decided to release the first batch of tracks from our new remix and rework album over the next five weeks. Each week starting today, we shall unveil a new track.
This week we release the remix of the opening track entitled ‘Prelude’ from our self-titled debut album . The remix was crafted by Dag Rosenqvist (formerly Jasper TX) who has collaborated with great artists such as Nils Frahm and Machinefabriek.
Dag on the process of creating the remix:
When I make a remix I tend to always go with the first idea I get when listening to the original version of the song. And then basically I don’t listen to the original version again, because what I want to make is not a remake or an adaptation of the original track, but rather my interpretation of that first idea, however fleeting it may be. When I first heard this track I knew I wanted to make something monotonous, with a steady drive, but still something reminiscent of a pop song in a way. I’m not sure it’s a pop song but I kind of like the bubbly, almost naïve atmosphere of it and it turned out pretty close to my initial idea and I hope you like it. – Dag Rosenqvist, Gothenburg Sweden, March 3 2014

2014 has good things in store BIINDS. We’re putting together something new at the moment which involves different collaborators.
